January kindness calendars

We are in the last week of January, which means that Kindness calendars will be due by Thursday, February 1st to be entered to win a prize during our assembly on Friday. Please turn your kindness calendars in directly to me between classes or leave in my mailbox in the office. I look forward to seeing how many students completed the calendars. We had 15 of 305 students participate in December, hopefully many more students will participate this month!

As a result of Kindness Week coming up, February 12-16, we will not have a monthly calendar for February. Instead students will receive a checklist of suggestions as part of the Great Kindness Challenge. Please look for your teachers to be handing those out in your first period class on Monday, February 12th. During that week we will have lots of activities to recognize and encourage kindness in the middle school. If you are interested in helping to prepare for these activities please join us in the library this Wednesday, January 31st after 7:30 am.

We had close to 500 acts of kindness reported last week. Many of these acts of kindness centered around the positive post its. Mrs. Lansing stated that "I found two (post its) randomly this week and it put a smile on my face, I can only imagine how impactful those messages would be for somebody who truly needed them."

Have a great week!
